La Chiva Colombian food in Casselberry

Colombian food, Le Cordon Bleu trained chefs. Very friendly and fun guys.

I had the Bandeja Paisa which is the traditional Colombian sampler platter with 3 meats, rice and red beans. It was very good. My favorite part was the grilled Chorizo.

For desert I had the Flan, great presentation!

I'll be going back very soon.

  1. You know, I have never been a fan of flan. I'm quite texture-oriented when it comes to food, and I think that's probably part of the reason I've never cared for flan.

  2. The food was decent, but I have to say the service was horrible... we have visited this restaurant a few times in the past and thought it was good until I used a Restaurants.com gift certificate. The owner overcharged us! The gift certificate states a $35 minimum purchase and 18% mandatory gratuity. We were charged more than 18% gratuity and on top of that we were taxed on the entire amount of the bill including taxing the gratuity and overtaxed as well, instead of charging 6.5% sales tax they charged 8% in taxes! I confronted the waitress about the overcharge and she dismissed me by saying that "she only works there" what is that???? She stated the owner did the math, so I requested to speak to the owner and she refused to call him. The check that included all the math and charges was handwritten... finally after all the back and forth with the waitress I give her my credit card and she brings me a register check that only included the bottom line which was about $28 dollars and it did not reflect the gratuity, full amount of the bill, taxes and $25 gift card... therefore leading me to believe this guy is overcharging and overtaxing customers and evading taxes by not displaying the entire transaction on his register!!!!! BEWARE this guy is a THIEF!!!!!
