The Tennessee Truffle

Birthday dinner at The Tennessee Truffle in Sanford. Dishes were creative and fantastic. Sweetbreads, Catfish and grits, Duck.

George's Cafe Winter Park

Did you know that George's Cafe, well known for their great and large lunches, also serves breakfast Thursday-Sundays?

I first tried George's back when they were catering and take out only running out of a small space on Orange ave in Winter Park, they were well known for their great cookies. They later moved to the plaza on Lee Road and 17-92 and did well there for many years.

Recently they moved to Park Ave in Winter Park to a much bigger space with a great patio.

Go try em out for breakfast, they have grits, eggs benedict, quiche, biscuits and gravy and much more.

Birria Tacos at Alex's Fresh Kitchen

This week at Alex's Fresh Kitchen in Casselberry they have Birria Tacos. I had some yesterday and they were great.

Elize Restaurant

Unfortunately a few weeks after this post Elize went out of business and closed their doors for good.

Elize Restaurant tonight. It took over the space Rusty Spoon was in for a long time in Church Street in downtown Orlando.

We started off with the foie gras terrine which was very good with the soft toasted bread and marmalade.

The two entrees we had were octopus/pork belly with fingerling potatoes and the other dish was saffron rissotto with seared tuna.

Both dishes were good, but I feel like the octopus one was better.

Pop's Pizzeria on Mills

A new pizza place has popped up on the map. Pop's Pizzeria in #Mills50. 932 Mills Ave N, Orlando, Florida. Open 6-11pm Tuesday-Saturday for takeout only. Order on the UberEats platform for delivery or takeout (ordering link). The pickup window is in the back.

We tried 2 different pizzas, the cheese and the pepperoni. Both crusts were just the right thickness, toppings had great flavor, especially the pepperoni cups that formed on top.

They also have wings, calzones, burrata and Caprese salads.
